The Wooks have invaded!!!! GREAT WENT 1997

We were on Pike Peak going Crazed!!! The year 1995, Jerry had passed and we ripped down to Uncle Johns looking at the Ocean.
The wind was whipping and the candles went out. Times are a changing....
Fast Forward to 1997 JT and I decided to go crazed!!! Ordered us a pair of sweet tickets to The Great Went, or the Great Wet as most of us refer it to as. Signs that said " Welcome Phish Heads" " New Potatoes" and " Scrambell Campbell ". JT cranked a " Live One's "
45 minute insane in the Membrane Tweezer in his Sony Portable Walkman driving the Blue Bubblah to the tip of Maine. We decided there were so, so many Wook's abroad the great 5 mile airport stretch. Drenched Wet Wookie's man, boy did it rain! The first night was a waterlogged mess, raining, and raining. Over our Walkie Talkie we shouted " Skinneree Where are you?" No answer. Just a whole lotta trippin kids! Later the next day while we were beaming away too, the sun came out and we were The Biggest City in Maine Trey exclaimed! PYITE! The Wook's went CRAZED!! Find your City, find yourself a city to live in. Enjoy the soundboard's of our Great Went experience, and if a ticket cost seventy bucks, your not getting it for 20. Go whiff a 10th of Molly Brah!! and Forget Bout it!

Encore: ContactLoving Cup
Notes: This was the first show of The Great Went festival. Harpua picked up where the Clifford Ball Harpua left off. After Chalk Dust, Trey remarked that the first three songs served as the soundcheck, which the band did not do before the show. The jam out of Simple, as well as the beginning of My Soul, included Odd Couple theme teases. Halley’s Comet included On Your Way Down teases. Cities included an After Midnight tease, as well as Trey altering the lyrics to reference “Fishman sleeping in the daytime.” The Julius intro was partially performed a cappella with finger snaps. Funky Bitch featured a fireworks display behind the stage that culminated as the song ended. After the show, the members of Phish DJ’d under pseudonyms at a festival tent in what has become known as the “Disco Set.”

Notes: This was the second show of The Great Went festival. Tweezer featured a Cities-like jam and Simple teases, and the Digital Delay Loop Jam included London Bridge is Falling Down teases. Throughout the weekend, fans painted pieces of wood that were assembled into an Art Tower. During Disease, Page and Fishman painted their portions of the Art Tower; Mike and Trey painted theirs during 2001. The Art Jam saw the crowd carry the pieces of the band’s art to the side of the venue where it was hoisted onto the Art Tower and added to the fans' art. During Tweezer Reprise, the Art Tower was burned to the ground as The Great Went came to a close. As the Hood jam kicked in, Trey asked Chris to turn the lights off and the band jammed while the front section of the audience engaged in the first Hood glowstick war. Trey remarked to the crowd at the end of the jam that the visual display was cool. Between the first and second sets, the Bangor Symphony Orchestra performed selections from Stravinsky and Debussy as a red-smoke-spewing glider synchronized its swoops and dives to the music. Buffalo Bill was played for the first time since December 31, 1994 (204 shows).
